THE PIANO MUSIC OF DICK HYMAN PERFORMED BY STEVEN HARLOS

The following album is our newest and in some respects our most important release. The Piano Music of Dick Hyman Performed By Steven Harlos contains performances by Mr. Harlos of three of Mr. Hyman’s most important works: Piano Man, Five Propositions For Piano, and Indiana Variations. Piano Man was premiered by Mr. Hyman in 1982 and subsequently performed by Mr. Harlos for the Cleveland Ballet; Five Propositions For Piano are creative compositions first published by Mr. Hyman in 2010; Indiana Variations are based on the familiar 1917 song “(Back Home Again) In Indiana” and consist of twelve ingenious transformations.

Label:  Eastlake Records presented by Arbors Records

Artist:
Dick Hyman, composer Steven Harlos, piano

Release Date:
2021

This recording was made in various locations including Mr. Hyman's studio in Venice, FL; and at the University of North Texas where Mr. Harlos serves as chair of the Division of Keyboard Studies. This recording was partially supported by a Faculty Research Grant from the University of North Texas.
